Where valves sites lose the enquiry

Each of these is common, cheap to fix, and costs an enquiry that never arrives — so nobody ever reports it.

  • Design standard referenced without a number

    Piping specifications name standards. A valve that cannot be mapped to a named standard cannot be written into a specification.

  • Leak or seat test class not stated

    It is the specification difference between two apparently identical valves and the reason one is cheaper.

  • Trim materials not separated from body materials

    Trim is what contacts the flow and what fails. A single material statement for the whole valve is not usable for fluid compatibility.

What is the most useful page a valve manufacturer can publish?

How should test standards be presented?

Name the test standard and the leak class achieved, per valve type. Valves are compared on price constantly, and the test class is usually where the difference is. Making it explicit turns a losing price comparison into a specification argument you can win.

Do buyers need actuator information on the valve page?

They need to know the mounting standard and the torque figures, so an actuator can be sized without contacting you. Whether you supply the actuator or not, publishing the interface data makes your valve easier to design in and harder to substitute.
