Choose the right route to more qualified B2B enquiries.
Most comparison pages list software. Yours is a shorter, more honest list: a marketplace, an agency, a website project, a sales hire, an AI visibility tool, a done-for-you service, or Plact. Each solves a different part of the job. Plact wrote this page and Plact is on the list, so read our row the way you would check anyone else's.
What each option actually does.
B2B marketplace
- You pay for
- Access to buyers already sourcing inside that platform, plus seller tools and RFQ flow.
- Strongest at
- Reaching buyers who search within the marketplace itself.
- Boundary
- Your listing sits on their domain, next to every competitor, and the same enquiry often goes to several suppliers. It does not build discovery you own outside the platform.
SEO agency
- You pay for
- Search strategy, technical work, content or link-building within an agreed scope.
- Strongest at
- Adding specialist search capacity to an existing marketing team.
- Boundary
- The engagement may stop at rankings, traffic or deliverables rather than product specifications and enquiry context.
Website project
- You pay for
- A new or rebuilt owned website.
- Strongest at
- Fixing a weak technical and buyer-facing foundation.
- Boundary
- A handover does not automatically provide recurring buyer research, content, search upkeep or enquiry handling.
Sales hire or SDR
- You pay for
- Account research, outreach, qualification and follow-up capacity.
- Strongest at
- Working known accounts and starting outbound conversations.
- Boundary
- Sales capacity does not fix what an unknown buyer finds and verifies before contacting the team.
AI visibility tool
- You pay for
- A dashboard that tracks where your brand appears in AI answers.
- Strongest at
- Marketing teams that can turn the data into content and fixes themselves.
- Boundary
- A tracker hands you a score. The research, writing, specifications and publishing work still lands on your team.
Plact
- You pay for
- Ongoing buyer research, approved product knowledge, pages, SEO, AI-search readiness and enquiry paths.
- Strongest at
- Connecting owned discovery and supplier specifications to a commercially useful enquiry.
- Boundary
- Plact does not supply marketplace demand, replace a sales team or guarantee rankings, enquiries or revenue.
Which option fits your situation.
- Your buyers already source inside one platform
- Add or improve a marketplace listing, and keep your owned presence working alongside it.
- You have a marketing team that needs data
- An AI visibility tool gives them the dashboard. They still do the work.
- You run a general consumer or local business
- A broad done-for-you content service fits better than Plact.
- You need enquiries this week
- Paid ads. Discovery work compounds over months; anyone promising instant enquiries is guessing.
- You sell technical products buyers verify before enquiring, with no marketing team
- Plact. That is the one job it is built for.
Questions before choosing.
Does Plact replace Alibaba, IndiaMART or another marketplace?+
No. A marketplace can provide access to buyers using that marketplace. Plact works on your owned website and public company presence so buyers can find, verify and contact the business outside a rented listing as well.
Is Plact an SEO agency?+
SEO is part of Plact, but the job is broader. Approved business knowledge, buyer research, product and application content, supplier specifications, AI-search readiness and qualified-enquiry paths all use the same approved facts.
Do we need a new website before using Plact?+
No. Plact can work with the website and CMS you have when they support the required pages, specifications, tracking and enquiry path. A replacement website is a separate add-on only when the current foundation blocks the work.
Does Plact guarantee more enquiries?+
No. Plact improves the first-party information, discovery foundation and contact path available to a serious buyer. Search engines, AI answer tools and buyers make their own decisions, so rankings, enquiries and revenue are not guaranteed.
When to stay with what you have.
- Your marketplace listing already brings enquiries you can handle. Keep it. Add an owned presence alongside when you are ready, not instead of it.
- You are two or three months into an agency or service engagement. Discovery work compounds; switching resets it. Judge at the agreed milestone, not mid-curve.
- You have a marketing team with time to act on data. A dashboard does not write pages, but a capable team with a tracking tool can.
