Why does wear life dominate equipment selection?

Because in mining the consumable and maintenance cost usually exceeds the capital cost within a short period. A supplier who publishes wear life under stated ore conditions is competing on the number the metallurgist actually tracks.

How should assay guarantees be presented?

As guaranteed values with tolerances and the sampling method, not as typical results. Mineral contracts are settled on assay, and a producer who publishes the guarantee and the sampling basis is much easier to contract with.

What matters most about site support?

Where people and parts actually are, and how quickly they reach the site. Mining operations lose large sums per hour of downtime, so a specific support answer, with locations and response times, outweighs a keener price in almost every evaluation.
