Questions suppliers ask

What should a sourcing policy actually say?

Where components are bought, which distributors are authorised, what happens when a part is obsolete or allocated, and how counterfeit parts are detected and prevented. It is the most valuable page an electronics manufacturer can publish and almost nobody does.

How should test coverage be described?

By naming each test, what it detects and what it cannot. Buyers understand that no test regime catches everything; what damages trust is discovering after a field failure that the test they assumed was applied never was.

Does design for manufacture support matter to buyers?

It matters a great deal to first-time hardware companies, who frequently arrive with designs that cannot be built economically. Offering a design review before quoting turns a difficult project into a relationship, and it prevents the yield problems that would otherwise be blamed on you.
